Power of Choice Newsletter - High School Edition Fall 2021

Parents of High School Students: Experiencing difficult feelings from challenging situations is a part of life. Yet, sometimes an adolescent displays signs of possible mental health concerns. With your teenager going through so many hormonal changes with moods and behaviors that seem to fluctuate daily, how does a parent decipher the difference? Jaime Horner, a social worker from Naperville Police Department, provides important information in the Fall 2021 newsletter, here: TheParent Post, High School Edition. Included is information about how students can uplift their school community by joining the Youth Advisory Committee.

The Power of Choice is a collaborative project led by 360 Youth Services in District 203 and 204 middle and high schools growing the number of students making healthy choices regarding substance use.

Neshnabec 2021-22 Neuqua Valley Yearbook Orders

The yearbook staff is proud to announce its 2021-22 edition of the yearbook (the 25th edition of the historical document of a-year-in-the-life of Our Valley). Visit www.yearbookforever.com where you will enter Neuqua Valley in the school search function. Orders are only taken online through that website.
  • Orders from October 1-December 15 cost $70.00.
  • Orders from January 1-January 15 cost $72.25.
Unfortunately, no orders can or will be taken after January 15 at 11:59 p.m., nor can orders be processed via check payments to the school.

Yearbook distribution will occur in May for all students, with dates to be announced when we are closer to the arrival date. Please note: There is a spring supplement that covers all spring sports plus the final senior activities, such as graduation and prom, that is mailed to anyone who has preordered the yearbook by the January 15 deadline; no need to pick those up!

For seniors only: All 2022 graduates MUST have their senior portrait taken with Root Studios/HR Imaging. Please contact them directly at 815-433-1766 to schedule your photoshoot ASAP. The final portrait sittings happen in December 2021. Once that date has come and gone, there is nothing the senior class house nor the yearbook staff can do to have those senior portraits taken. Also remember, after the photos are taken, go into the website HR Imaging provides and select which photo you want in the yearbook; if you do not select the image yourself, the studio will select the best picture for submission to the yearbook. The yearbook staff cannot make manual changes to that picture once the selection is made.

For further information, contact Yearbook Adviser Michelle La Scola (michelle_lascola@ipsd.org) with questions.

Sincerely, The Neshnabec Staff, 2022
