NV Chess Finishes Seventh in the IHSA State Competition

Congratulations to NV Chess (7th in State) and coaches Jim Fox and Frank Gambino - Two very long days competing in the very first IHSA virtual State tournament that ended in a relative 6-1 tie among the top 7 teams. The final order was determined by tiebreakers.

Class of 2021 Graduation Information and Senior Newsletter

High School Graduation is a landmark event for students and families.

We are excited to announce that Commencement Ceremonies will take place on our campus at Barb Barrows Stadium on Friday, May 28.

As the date approaches, exact times and size of each ceremony will be adapted to fit the current public health guidance. Families should plan for times that could potentially span the entire day. Each graduate will be provided two tickets for guests to attend the graduation. All ceremonies will also be streamed live.

While this is an important date so that families can begin to plan, we know there will be many more questions and details you will have. Please give us time to address those in the coming weeks. We want to provide the best experience for our students and that means being thorough and thoughtful in everything we do.

Summer School Registration is Now Open

Registration is now open for high school students interested in 204 OnLine Summer School. There will be two sessions: June 10 - July 2 and July 8 – July 30. Registration deadline is May 1. For more information, visit the summer school webpage.

School Board Candidate Forums

The Islamic Center of Naperville is hosting a Meet the Candidates Zoom event at 6 pm on February 26. Candidates from District 204, District 203 and District 308 have been invited to participate. Register here. 

The Indian Prairie Parents' Council (IPPC) and the League of Women Voters of Naperville (LWVN) will be hosting a School Board Candidate Forum on Tuesday, March 2 at 7 pm. Community members can register online to watch the forum live and the event will also be streamed on the LWVN Facebook page. After the event, the recording will be posted on the LWVN’s YouTube channel.

In addition, the Indian Prairie Education Association and Indian Prairie Classified Association produced video interviews with the candidates running for the April 6 school board election. You can watch the interviews and read candidate questionnaires on the district’s website.

Four seats on the seven-member board of education will be filled at the April 6 election. Those elected will serve four-year terms. The following candidates will be on the ballot: Shannon Adcock, Laurie Donahue, Allison Fosdick, Saba Haider, Robert O. Harris, Supna C. Jain, Marina Kosak, Yanmai May Laing, Rajesh Narayan, Kader Sakkaria, and Susan Taylor-Demming.

KidsMatter Stress Relief Care Bags for Students

KidsMatter Distributing 1500 Stress Relief Care Bags in the Community!

Thursday, March 11
1:00 – 4:00 pm

On Thursday, March 11th between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm KidsMatter will be in the parking lot of Centennial Beach (500 Jackson Avenue, Naperville) giving away 1500 Stress Relief Care Bags to kids ages preschool through high school! Bags include a coloring book designed by students! (age appropriate!) Also in the bags are crayons or colored pencils, a stress ball, Play-Doh, scratch art, and more! We know kids are going through a lot right now. This is a fun, free boost for kids of all ages! Come on over to Centennial Beach on Thursday March 11 between 1:00 and 4:00 pm and pick up a free care bag! Just drive through and we’ll hand you the bag or bags you need through your car window. You don’t even have to get out of your car. We’ll be masked and socially distanced, following all guidelines! Centennial Beach: 500 Jackson Ave, Naperville.

NVHS Student Council Toiletry Drive

Donate to the Student Council Toiletry Drive! District families are in need of toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, toilet paper, deodorant, washcloths, baby wipes, disinfectant spray, bar soap, & laundry detergent. Bring these full-size items to the rotunda at both buildings from now until March 4th.
