Neuqua Valley High School Academic Planning Night - December 7th

Neuqua Valley’s School Counseling and Social Work Department invites you to join us on Monday, December 7, 2020, at 7:00 pm for our virtually hosted Annual Academic Planning Night.

Academics and Beyond: Supporting Your Student       
Focus will be on how to help your child stay connected and be their own advocate. Learn about supports and resources available to students and families at NVHS and in the community.

Dual & Advanced Placement Credit for College
Learn about all of our dual and advanced placement courses and how you can earn college credits by taking these courses in high school.

Factors to consider when researching and selecting a post-secondary path that is right for you.

Options after High School (other than 4 year college)
   An overview of alternative options available after high school for students other than the 4 year college option.  Information on the following options will be covered; military, certificate and associate degrees from the community college, vocational/technical schools and the trades.

Extras that Make All the Difference
Do colleges look at extracurricular activities? Some do, some don’t.  If a college looks beyond the numbers, they are truly seeking to understand who the student is as a person, what makes them passionate, and what they would bring to a campus. Let’s talk about some concrete ways to build a resume that will communicate who you are. This session would be most beneficial for current Freshmen and Sophomores.
