2015-16 Course Selection Process

The NV course selection process for the 2015-16 school year has officially begun. Teachers and students participated in course recommendation discussions on January 13th. Students received course selection worksheets to help guide the process. These worksheets outline the course selection process and provide important instructions and deadlines. Students also viewed a Course Recommendation Student video. Please take a few moments and view this video and all other course selection information by clicking here.

Keep in mind the following items as your student selects courses for their 2015-16 school year.

  • HAC is now open for students to begin online course selection. We ask that students make course selections prior to the end of day on February 2nd. A total of 7 credits should be selected. Parents may view the process using either the student or parent's HAC username and password to log in. Course selection in HAC will close at end of day on February 2nd.
  • Many courses have been pre-loaded and locked into place for students. These include courses that are required for graduation and/or have level placement requirements. If there is a need to request a change in placement up a level, (example: College Prep to Honors/Advanced Placement) please contact the high school department chair before February 2nd. Department Chairs will communicate approved or declined level changes directly to your students Counselor. To request moving down a level, please select the lower level in HAC and the guidance counselor will remove the higher course during the student meeting.
  • February 3rd- Febuary 12th: Counselors meet with students through designated classes for brief individual conferences to finalize course choices. Students will be notified of their appointed time.
If you have any questions, please contact your student’s counselor for assistance. Thank you for your partnership in this important process.

Illinois 5Essentials Survey for Parents

Teachers, parents, and middle and high school students across Illinois have the opportunity to participate in the Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey was designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of your child's school from the perspective of teachers, parents, and students.

As a parent, your voice is essential to help us understand the conditions at your child's school and guide improvement. The Illinois 5Essentials Survey is administered online by the University of Chicago, on behalf of the Illinois State Board of Education. The state will provide survey results for individual schools only if a school has at least 20 percent of parents take the survey. If you have children attending more than one school, we ask that you complete the survey for each school. All survey responses will be kept confidential.
To take this short survey:
2. Type and then select DuPage as District 204's County location. This is the county associated with the district, not the location of an individual school.

3. Type your school's name into the School field and then select your school.
