Important Information for All Families about ACT Testing and PARCC Testing This Spring

Beginning this Spring, there are significant changes to large-scale testing for students in Illinois and many others across the country.

All Juniors in the State of Illinois took the ACT+ (Includes Writing) on March 3, 2015. This is a State ACT test that has previously been given in April under the name of the Prairie State Achievement Exam (PSAE). Seniors had no school and Freshmen and Sophomores were engaged in practice testing.
Freshman and Sophomores received there practice results to bring home on 3/4 and 3/5.

There is no WorkKeys test this year.

PARCC Testing also begins this Spring. PARCC is a computer-based assessment that evaluates the Common Core State Standards.

There are two phases:

·         PARCC Performance-based Assessment (PBA) on March 16-19, 2015
·         PARCC End-of-Year Assessment (EOY) on April 27-30, 2015

Students in the following courses will be taking PARCC tests:

·         Math: Fr-Sr. students enrolled in Alg2/Trig and Honors Alg2/Trig
·         English: Junior or Senior students enrolled in English III and AP English      III
