Summer School and Online Course Registration Procedure

Summer School and Online Course Registration Procedure
Many students are beginning to plan for summer study options. Some students use summer school to recover credit; other students will use summer to get ahead. The district policy for out-of-district and online course work can be found in the online High School Course Guide (pp. 6-7)
Only courses pre-approved by your counselor will be placed on the transcript. Starting Summer 2014, all summer school and online courses will receive a letter grade. This change in policy will not affect courses taken in previous years. Students may take 2.0 credit of outside or online course work. College of DuPage summer school and District 204 online coursework do not count against the 2.0 credit limit. Also, students may replace a grade ONLY by taking the same course at Neuqua Valley during the school year. Classes that are retaken during the summer or online are not eligible for grade replacement. Finally, online and summer school courses that are labeled honors/AP are not eligible for weighted credit. This summer, District 204 will offer two online courses: Consumer Economics and Introduction to Music Theory.
