Change in eNews Subscriptions - Confirm Your Email!

Stay on our email list

In early March, District 204 schools will begin using Connect ED to email news and information to parents. This change will eliminate the need for parents to subscribe to a separate email list in order to receive email updates from school.

The new system will use email addresses from eSchool Home Access Center. Therefore, only our parents will receive our email messages. Since community members will no longer receive our emails, we encourage them to visit our website to stay informed about events happening in our school.

We want to make sure our current parents continue to receive our emails before we switch to the new system, so please take a moment to check that your email address is correct in eSchool Home Access Center.

As a parent, you can view and update your email address by following these steps:
  1. Enter your username and password at
  2. Select "Registration" on the left side or click the link for your child's name and then go to the "Registration" page. If you have more than one child, you only have to update your email in one child's record. It will automatically update for all other children.
  3. Click the "Edit Information" link at the bottom of the page under "Contact Information."
  4. Scroll down until you see your email address and enter a correction if needed.
  5. The second email address for an additional parent can be corrected by contacting your students class house and asking them to update the information.

Hoops for Heart

Neuqua Valley’s Physical Education program will be holding our annual Hoops for Heart fundraising event for the American Heart Association (AHA). Starting February 18th, students will be asked to participate in our online fundraising efforts to collect donations for the AHA. Please help by offering a few email addresses of family and friends in order to make this a success (see attachment).  With the amazing help from our students and families, last year we raised $13,783.22 for the American Heart Association. On March 28th, we will conclude with a fun Hoops for Heart day, students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of special activities including 3 on 3 basketball, volleyball, knockout contest, Pickleball, and swimming just to name a few.

All cash or check donations (payable to: American Heart Association) can be given to your student’s PE teacher.  For a $10 or more donation students can receive a “Hoops for Heart” t-shirt. If interested, students should bring their donation to their PE teacher to request a t-shirt.
Many individuals and families have benefited from the efforts of the American Heart Association in their fight again heart related issues.  We ask that you consider the effects that heart disease has and will continue to have on our lives and do your part in making a difference.  We thank you all in advance for your continued help!

Chris Herren Visits Naperville February 18, 2014 at 7 pm
Naperville North High School
Field House

Chris Herren, former NBA basketball player, will present to parents and the community at Naperville North High School on the evening of February 18 (Field House). Mr. Herren shares his story of drug abuse that ended his professional basketball career. His hope is to reach individual students to make a positive difference in the direction of their life. His message will powerfully reinforce the message middle and high school students that drug use is a severe danger in their lives and does not discriminate in any way in the destructiveness of its impact.

Mr. Herren’s presentations at NNHS have been arranged by the staff Healthy Huskies committee and the student Rise Above organization. It is financially and morally supported by partnerships with the Naperville Police Department, the NNHS Huskie Boosters’ Club, NNHS Home & School, the SFCP, Rosecrance, Linden Oaks, Alexian Brothers, Cadence, 360 Youth Services, Shield Genie, several private donors, and many NNHS student organizations including Key Club, Student Government, National Honor Society, the Classes of 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017, National Art Honor Society, Speech Team, Theater Club, DECA, Art Club, Youth and Government, Environmental Club, Council for Exceptional Children, Junior State of America, First Class, Dawg Pound, the Steppers, Northern Lights Flags, the Dance Team, Orchesis, Spanish Club, the Field Hockey Team, Lacrosse Teams, Soccer Teams, Boys Basketball, Boys Football, Tennis Teams, Girls Softball, Boys Wrestling.

Parents and community members are invited to attend Mr. Herren’s powerful presentation. This event will serve as an important catalyst in mobilizing our community to fight drug use.

Chris starred at Durfee High School in Fall River, Massachusetts and played college basketball for Boston College and Fresno State. An NBA second round draft pick, Chris played for the Denver Nuggets and the Boston Celtics, as well as for several teams in Europe and Asia.

Herren’s 2011 memoir Basketball Junkie tells the story of his addiction and its impact on and off the basketball court. He is also the subject of an Emmy-nominated ESPN Films documentary Unguarded (2013).

Chris struggled with substance abuse for much of his basketball career. He has been alcohol and drug free since August 1, 2008 and has focused his life on sobriety, family, and making a difference in the lives of youth.

In recent years, Mr. Herren has presented at Benedictine University and several other Chicagoland high schools. His message will powerfully reinforce our message to students that drug use is a severe danger in their lives and does not discriminate in any way in the destructiveness of its impact.
