Senior College Application Announcement

We appreciate the great turnout yesterday for Senior College Application night and are very excited for your senior year!  The powerpoint and handouts will be posted on Edline soon. This morning NV received an important update concerning the COMMON APPLICATION.  If this is your application method please read the following:

The Common Application has a temporary technical issue with the ASSIGNED RECOMMENDER SECTION.  At this time students can complete an application via Common Application, but are not able to use the “assigned recommender” section.  So our recommendation is to complete your application but do not submit it.  We will alert you once this error is corrected by Common Application, and then you may log back in and update the “assigned recommender”  section.  We anticipate a resolution within 72 hours.

Best wishes for a great 2013-14 school year.  For your calendars, Financial Aid Information Night is scheduled for November 20th at 7:00 pm in the NV Auditorium.

State Asks Parents to Inform School on Military Duty

The Illinois State Board of Education is requiring school districts to report if a parent or guardian of a current student in the district is a member of the United States armed forces who is deployed or expects to be deployed to active duty during the school year.

As a parent/guardian it is your choice as per Section 22-70 of the School Code [105 ILCS 5/22-70] to inform the district if you are deployed or expect to be deployed to active duty during this school year. Please contact your child’s school if you choose to disclose this information.
