Neuqua Valley Junior Dance Clinic

Please join the Neuqua Valley Dance team on Saturday,  February 10th from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm for a Junior Dance Clinic to support our program.  All children Kindergarten - 8th grade are invited to attend.  A shirt, snack, and a performance before the Neuqua Valley Varsity Game

Seniors, it is that time of year to review your college applications (INCLUDING COMMON APPS) to see if a mid-year transcript is required to complete the process. If it is required, enter the transcript request through your Naviance account. If you do not request a mid-year transcript through Naviance, the transcript cannot be sent. See your counselor with any questions.

Neuqua Mother Son Brunch

Neuqua-Palooza, My Son Rocks! Join us for this annual and most memorable event celebrating the special relationship between Mothers and Sons! Good food, fun prizes, entertainment by John Green - Comedic Magician, Neuqua's own Evan Morales as MC, and of course fabulous memories to last forever! Secure your seats, or even your entire table of 10 by registering here. Please be sure to select a table in your son's grade, and if you are part of a group, select the same table number for everyone you wish to sit with. If you have more than one son, please send Tami an email with each son's grade. If you wish to select your specific table, you will need to register using a computer. Apparently, the site automatically assigns the table within the grade if registering via your phone. Please send 2 pictures only; one of you and your son when he was young, and one current picture of you and your son to Lauren Musielewicz at lmoose2@comcast.net no later than 2/4/18. 2017-2018 Semester 1 Report Card Information

Dear NV Wildcats,

Semester One report cards will be accessible in Home Access Center beginning at noon, this Saturday 1/20/18.
Click on the Grades icon and then the Report Card tab. Please print a copy for your records by clicking on the Print button on the Report Card screen. Also, students are encouraged to review their transcripts at this time.

Your Digital Footprint Matters Contest Entries due January 17, 2018

In an effort to increase awareness of responsible digital citizenship, KidsMatter has partnered together with School Districts 203 & 204, and the Naperville Police Department, to offer students the opportunity to participate in a video contest 
and win cash prizes!

Description of Project:
This contest gives students in Naperville District 203 & Indian Prairie 204 the opportunity to help solve a real-world problem by submitting videos of their own creation as a single or group submission about digital citizenship. Videos that are selected as prize winners will be:
  • showcased during KidsMatter’s Community-wide Internet Safety Event – a “Hollywood Premiere” - at the Community Christian Church on Tuesday, February 12, 2018.
  • utilized for curricular purposes in both District 203 and 204
  • recognized by the Mayor & City Council in a public forum
Prize Incentives: Video Contest Winners 
Student winners all receive a trophy, picture with the mayor and:
  • $200 - 1st Place High School Winning Video
  • $200 – 1st Place Junior High/Middle School Winning Video
  • $200 – 1st Place Elementary School Winning Video
$500 GRAND PRIZE awarded to Overall 1st Place students’ school district along with a traveling trophy

Eligibility:
Full-time students in grades K-12 in Naperville Community Unit School District 203 & Indian Prairie School District 204

Video Requirements:
Resolution Requirements: Minimum of 640x480 resolution.
Video Formats Accepted: .avi, .wmv, .mov, .mp4

Time Requirements:
Minimum of 30 seconds and maximum of 2 minutes.

Content Requirements:
Content within the video should emphasize characteristics of one of the seven domains of the Illinois Internet Safety Act.

When:
The Contest begins on May 15, 2017 and ends on January 17, 2018.

  • Safe and responsible use of the Internet
  • Recognizing, avoiding and reporting online solicitations

  • Recognizing and avoiding unsolicited or deceptive online communication
  • Recognizing and reporting online harassment and cyber-bullying
  • Reporting illegal online activities and communications
  • Understanding copyright laws on written materials, photographs, music and video
Common Core Standards that this Project Fulfills:
W 9-10.6 Use technology, including the Internet, to produce, publish, and update individual or shared writing products, taking advantage of technology’s capacity to link to other information and to display information flexibly and dynamically.
SL 9-10.5 Make strategic use of digital media and visual displays of data to express information and enhance understanding of presentations.

Did You Know That IPSD Offers Online Courses?

Did you know we offer 14 online courses during the Fall or Spring semester? Former students have enrolled for a variety of reasons including to find the flexibility to balance personal responsibilities, to experience an online course before attending college, or to try something new and innovative.
The online courses are included in our high school program planning guide. To register, please select the online course at the same time you choose your on-campus and blended classes. Please note that an online course counts as one of your seven scheduled classes, and students taking an online course are required to have an options period, late arrival or early dismissal in their schedule.
You may also enroll in one of our seven online courses during the summer. Registration opens on January 18 and ends on April 30. For summer school information, please visit www.eloconsortium.org.



2018-2019 Course Selction Information

Dear Wildcats and parents,
It’s the time of year to begin the process of course selection for the the2018-19 school year. On Wednesday, January 10th we have course recommendation activities planned for each grade level. This is a normal school day and the activities will take place during each class period. Please read the course enrollment materials for details regarding level placement, graduation requirements, and process timelines.

Parents, please go to the Neuqua Valley Guidance Website to view all materials!
As we do each year, students will be asked to enter selections through their HAC accounts. Courses that are pre-entered and locked are graduation requirements. We encourage parents and students to review the course selections together. If you have any questions, please contact the appropriate Class House.

On Tuesday, January 16th at 7:00 pm, the course selection tab in Home Access Center will go live, and students may view recommendations and select elective courses. Home Access course selection link remains open until the end of the school day Wednesday, January 31st.
