NVHS Guidance Department Sponsors Academic Planning Night Monday 12/5


Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior students and their parents are invited to attend Academic Planning Night on Monday, December 5th. Join us from 6:00-6:30 p.m. for the 2016 Academic Planning Night. At 6:30, Dr. McBride will welcome everyone in the Auditorium and launch the programs for the evening. Sessions include course planning for 2017-18, dual credit, scholarships, post-secondary planning, and many other topics. The evening will conclude before 9:00 p.m.

Join Neuqua Students for the Hour of Code on Thursday, December 8th

Don't just play on your phone...program it! This event is open to anyone, teachers or students, regardless of experience who are interested in how video games, websites, and software are developed. Immerse yourself in an hour of code and join millions of students worldwide participating in this event. Perfect ACT Scores Announced

Very few students get a perfect ACT score, even those who get into the country's top colleges. In fact, anyone scoring a 34, 35 or 36 is among the top 1% of test-takers in the country. We would like to congratulate the following students on achieving a perfect score of 36 on the October 2016 ACT test.

Orchesis Dance Company Holiday Dance Camp

The Orchesis Dance Company will be hosting our annual Holiday Dance Camp for all students ages Pre-K through 8th Grade on Sunday, December 11th from 1:00-4:30pm. This is a great time for parents to run errands or work on holiday shopping! Students will learn holiday-themed choreography from our Orchesis Dance Company dancers and the day will include a break to decorate gingerbread cookies that the dancers can bring home. Parents are invited to watch their dancers perform at the end of the day in a closing showcase.

Neuqua Men's Lacrosse Kick off Meeting

Let's go Wildcats and get ready to find out information on the 2017 Neuqua Men's Lacrosse spring season. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, December 7 at the Neuqua Valley Main Campus large Forum room at 7.00pm. We will be reviewing registration, cost, fundraising, coaching staff, and will be answering any questions you may have regarding the 2017 season. This meeting is open to anyone interested in playing Lacrosse. We have multiple teams and are looking for anyone interested in representing Neuqua during the spring. Bring a friend and find out why Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports in the America.

College of DuPage Scholars Program

SENIORS!!!! The College of DuPage has announced their scholarship awards/opportunities! The following scholarships are available:


  • Presidential Award - Covers up to 64 credit hours of in-district tuition (fees and books not covered); 3.8 GPA OR ACT composite 29
  • Board of Trustees Award - $2500 (can be applied to tuition only); automatically enrolled in COD Honors Program; renewable up to 4 semesters; 3.6 GPA OR ACT composite 27
  • Deans Scholars Award - $1000 (can be applied to tuition only); automatically enrolled in COD Honors Program; renewable up to 4 semesters; 3.5 GPA OR ACT composite 25

Students must:
  • Complete an application for admission to College of DuPage - cod.edu/apply
  • Submit official ACT score
  • Submit current HS transcript (including '16-'17 schedule)
  • Complete application for Scholars Award Program - cod.edu/scholarships
PRIORITY APPLICATION DEADLINE - NOVEMBER 28, 2016
