2015-16 Course Verification

It is that time of year for students in the Class of 2016, 2017 and 2018 to review their course requests for the 2015-16 school year. This is done through the Home Access Center (HAC) by clicking on the schedule link. You will be able to view the courses your student will take next year; it is not your student’s daily schedule. The finalized schedule will be viewable in mid-August through HAC.

Important Information regarding Course review:If there is an error: (e.g. should have Geometry, but have Algebra) contact your counselor immediately.
If you want to request a change of elective, obtain a Request for Elective Schedule Change Form from your Class House or by clicking here
Elective Course Change FormFill the form out completely and return it to your class house with a parent/guardian signature. The elective change request window is Tuesday 5/26 – Friday 5/29.
Please be aware that several elements affect course availability. New enrollments, schedule changes because of summer school courses, and course balancing for reasonable class sizes are some of the factors we must take into account. Submitted elective change requests will be processed on a SPACE-AVAILABLE basis. Our goal is to have each of our students in the classes he or she requested for next year.

Level placements in core classes were completed on February 2nd and will not be part of the change request process at Neuqua Valley. We will, however, speak with families that have a level concern if an extenuating circumstance has interrupted their student’s academic journey. Contact the appropriate department chair for review by May 29th.
Thank you for your partnership and your patience with this process. Your student final schedule will be available for viewing in HAC in mid-August.

Integrated Pest Management Application on May 19th

Dear Parent, Guardian or Staff Member:

Public Acts 91-0099 and 91-0525 mandate Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for Illinois public schools.  IPM manages pest damage with the least possible hazard to people, property and the environment; including judicious use of pesticides.  In this context, “pesticide” includes insecticide, herbicide, rodenticide, and fungicide.

IPM provides parents/guardians or staff members with prior notice of herbicide application.  Please be aware that on (Tuesday, May 19, 2015), weather permitting, a weed control application (Cutrine Plus & Diquat SPC 2L) will be applied to the Lake and Shoreline at Neuqua Valley High School.  We match herbicide and application procedures to our school environment.  All are approved for school use, and are an important part of buildings and grounds maintenance. Typically, this application will not present a health concern to students or staff.  However, it is the intent of IPM to allow those with special sensitivity to take appropriate precautions:  in the case of children, as determined by a parent or guardian.

If you have further questions, please call my office at (630)428-6580.

Sincerely,
Ismael Carrizales
