The Neuqua Valley High School Hockey Club Spring program is a chance for new players to be introduced to the club, and provides a format for both new and returning players that emphasizes skills and game experience. Spring evaluations for team placement will be held March 24th & 26th.
The spring program will feature a minimum of 10 games, combined with some practices to further develop each player’s skills and teamwork. There may be additional scrimmage games as well. We are planning on having two teams and both will play in the Darien Spring High School League. There is both a Varsity and Junior Varsity division in the spring league. All teams make the playoffs, which are single elimination. Players will be assigned to either the Varsity or Junior Varsity team at the conclusion of evaluations. Players may be double rostered or moved between the two teams depending on total number of players and also player development throughout the spring season.
The NVHC Spring program is open to all current and incoming Neuqua Valley students that are eligible to play high school hockey for the 2014-2015 Fall/Winter season. There will be an evaluation process in order to determine team placement. Incoming freshmen for 2014-2015 season are strongly encouraged to participate.
The fees for the NVHC Spring program will be $495 for skaters and $200 for goalies. The registration deadline is March 21st. The program cost includes a spring jersey, a minimum of 11 practice slots per team and at least 10 games. A copy of the current 2013-2014 USA Hockey Registration is also required for players who are new to NVHC.
The NVHC Spring program will run from April 10th to June 8th. The game and practice schedule will be posted on the NVHC website once finalized in early-March. Spring tryouts will be held on March 24th from 6:20-7:30pm and March 26th from 6:40-7:30pm at Canlan Ice Arena.
